Current Show - Revenge of the Beehive

Revenge of the Beehive is not only a musical review, but an entertainment experience! With an amazing live band providing the soundtrack, it combines not only the music of the Girl Group era, but also dance and pop culture in a unique and exciting way! Every detail of the production has been considered to represent and reference particular themes from the era. The title itself is a spoof of a B-Horror movie from 1955. The costumes evoke two iconic looks from the era: the poodle skirt and the trendsetting style of Jackie Kennedy. The choreography, whenever possible, is taken from actual performances or stylized to fit with the time period. Authentic educational films on the subjects of dating and etiquette provide atmosphere when the audience is arriving and during intermission. The Host, who introduces the show and has spots throughout, pays tribute to some of the great pop culture personalities of the era including Murray the K, Dick Clark, Ed Sullivan, and the over-the-top Horror Hosts, like local favorite Dr. Shock, who dominated late night TV and movie theaters on Saturday nights.

This type of show appeals to a wide audience from people who are old enough to chuckle nostalgically and knowingly as they remember experiences from their youth to young hipsters who are devotees of John Water's films or have recently discovered 45's. This show has something for everyone and is presented with style, wit, and tongue firmly in cheek.

Featuring: The Cosmos with the talents of Gerry Crowe, Bob McGilloway, Kirsten Olson, Mike Voicheck, and Ed Rempfer as "The Host"
